TopTip Diamond, following the market and customers’ demands, has developed main four series of PCBN cutting tool blanks by using different binders, adjusting the grain size, content, and distribution CBN and also controlling the surface clearness of CBN crystals. These series of PCBN are subsumed under two broad categories: one is high content PCBN which has high hardness and good wear resistance and is proper for machining cast irons, heat resistant super alloys and sintered irons; the other one is low content PCBN which has high toughness and good impact resistance and is proper for machining hardened steels. The carbide substrate backed on the PCBN layer offers easier brazing while tipping the teeth onto tools.
